Relief materials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), have reached victims of insurgency attacks in the Hong local government area of Adamawa State.

The distribution, which targets 1,016 direct beneficiaries across 178 households in Kwapre, Zah, and Dabna communities, aims to provide assistance to those displaced by insurgent activities.

The launch of the distribution signifies the resilience and unity of the Kwapre community, as emphasized by Mustapha Habib Ahmed, Director General of NEMA, who reiterated the federal government’s commitment to intervening in the hardships faced by insurgency victims nationwide.

Representing DG NEMA, Mr. Galadima Sam Boyi, Head of Relief and Rehabilitation at NEMA’s Yola operations office, disclosed that the distributed items include food, non-food items, and building materials.

Simon Yakubu, the District Head of Dugwaba, expressed gratitude on behalf of the affected communities for the support from the Federal Government and the Adamawa state government, urging beneficiaries to utilize the materials judiciously.

Leaders of Dabna and Zah stressed the necessity for enhanced security measures in the area, calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to prioritize Kwapre’s safety and peace for sustainable development.

Mrs. Heidi Edgar, Permanent Secretary overseeing ADSEMA, expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for their support to the victims of insurgency.
